How to Visit SMSA

SMSA meets at 3:00 PM on the third Sunday of most months, at the Asbury Place Clubhouse, Sevierville Road (Hwy. 411), Maryville, Tennessee. Prior to the meeting, at 2:00 PM, we tell stories in the Chapel in the Assisted Living building. In June, we meet on the fourth Sunday. In July and December we have a picnic and holiday party, respectively, which is open to members and guests. In November, we are busy with Tellebrations and typically do not have a regular meeting.

DIRECTIONS from Downtown Knoxville. From I-40 or Kingston Pike, take Hwy. 129 (Alcoa Hwy) south to I-140, a.k.a. Hwy. 162, a.k.a. Pellissippi Pkwy. Turn southeast/left. (This is the second entrance.) Continue as from West Knoxville below.

From West Knoxville or South I-75, take Pellissippi Pkwy. (I-140) until it ends. Turn right on East Broadway (Hwy. 33 & Old Knoxville Pike). Continue aprox. 2
miles to Brown School Road on left. (Just past a Food City & a Hardees, both on right.) Continue on Brown School Road until a 90-degree fork in front of a church. Take right fork and follow until road ends on Sevierville Road (Hwy 411). Turn left. Take the 5th street on the right (~2500 ft. from Brown School Road). This is the street on the right side of the Asbury assisted living building. (If you miss this street, turn in at the second entrance and cross back along the front driveway.) Continue with Asbury Grounds Instructions below.

Taking Hwy. 411 from South of Maryville. In Maryville, follow signs and continue on 411 (West Broadway) to intersection with Lamar Alexander Pkwy. There are two options at this intersection. First option: Turn right off W. Broadway (411) onto Lamar Alexander Pkwy. Then, at the major intersection near Maryville College, turn left onto Washington St.--going the OPPOSITE direction from Townsend, and finally, turn right on High Street to make the connection. Second option: At intersection with Lamar Alexander Pkwy., continue straight across onto the old main street (becomes East Broadway). At Washington St. (about a mile), turn right. Then turn left on Sevierville Road, and finally turn left again when the latter merges with High Street. Asbury place is aprox. 3 miles northeast of Washington St., on Sevierville Road (Hwy. 411). (If you miss the first driveway into Asbury Place, turn in at the second entrance & cross back along the front driveway.) Continue with Asbury Grounds instructions below.

Taking Hwy. 411 from Sevierville, follow 411 to Seymour, turning left/south at traffic light where 411 splits from Hwy. 441. (There is a bank on SE corner and McDonalds near NE corner.) Continue south on 411 (Sevierville Road) until the outskirts of Maryville. Watch for Asbury Place on the left. This will be aprox. 2 ½ miles after crossing the Little River bridge and/or 1 ¾ miles after passing Peppermint Road on the right. Take the second entrance into the Asbury grounds.

Asbury Grounds Instructions.
For stories in the Chapel, park in front of the Assisted Living building (the long one facing Sevierville Road). Enter the main entrance in the middle of the building and, inside, turn right at the cross hallway. For the Clubhouse, follow the street on the right / southwest side of the Assisted Living building all the way down the hill until approaching a sharp right turn. The building on the right is the Clubhouse (gazebo & patio in front). There are parking & entrances front and back.
